Oh, Christmas Tree — 2024

Cheers to a magical evening filled with community, joy, and Christmas cheer!

Minoa sparkled with excitement on November 30, 2024, as the Village kicked off the holiday season in style! Firetrucks and ambulances rolled in with sirens singing and lights dancing, while two balloon-shaping magicians twisted up some serious fun. A DJ kept spirits merry with Christmas carols, and the air was sweet with the scent of thousands of cookies, fresh popcorn, and warm hot chocolate.

The festivities began at 4:00 p.m. at the Fire Station, where families eagerly awaited Santa’s grand entrance on a firetruck. Though the jolly old elf arrived fashionably late (thanks to a real-life call in Manlius), his appearance was worth the wait!

Santa, with his signature red suit and snowy white beard, drew a long line of excited children eager to share their Christmas wishes and take home a cuddly stuffed animal. Nearby, balloon animals and candy canes came to life, while happy faces gathered to enjoy cookies, popcorn, and steamy cups of cocoa. A big shout-out to the Eastern Star Chapter #144 for pulling out all the stops on those tasty treats! Meanwhile, the sound of carols filled the Fire Station, adding a musical glow to the evening.

At 5:00 p.m., the crowd headed outside, buzzing with anticipation. Mayor Bill Brazill took center stage at the municipal tree, sharing a heartwarming reminder that Christmas is all about love and generosity. With a dramatic flick of the switch, the tree burst to life in twinkling lights, and Minoa’s Christmas season officially began!
